A Simple Idea about Meaning and Purpose
In a world where many individuals are lacking purpose, this framework is starting to really make sense....
Life is a single player game that we each play, and we play our personal games together on the same board. The larger game is the game of humanity. We are each cells in the organism, cells in the body of humanity.
Ask, are you on the side of humanity?
Growth of a cell which serves the organism, like a red blood cells ability to carry oxygen, serves and grows the body.
Growth of a cell which harms the organism, like a cancer cell, degrades the body.
Are you aligned with the body of humanity? If yes, then ask:
What function do I serve? But this is a two-part question. What function do I serve now? And more importantly, because this supplies direction, what function am I to serve in the future? What do you need to do to fulfill this functional capacity?
So how does one determine their function?
Through interest. We have no say in what we find meaningful, it is as if it's programmed into us. Like the code programmed into cells of the body which inform action.
Interest and meaning are the COMPASS through which we learn and discover our function.
Our function is our purpose. That purpose is our global WHY manifested locally.
We align with humanity by aligning with ourselves.
Everything else is distraction, which through this lens, is an impediment to the advancement of humanity.
You are either fulfilling your purpose and advancing humanity, delaying entropy, or you are missing the mark and accelerating that entropy.
Our life's work is to discover our function and fulfill that function.
Yours in purpose,
Chris
